The first step is to ensure all Councillors both new and returning are up to date with what has happened, the decisions made and the reasons for them.  All the information needs to be provided to the Council so that an agreed way forward can be implemented.  There are some key decisions that need to be made around the process to date and what the Council will do going forward.  These can only be made when all Councillors have had the time to read and discuss fully all the information available to date.  The direction to be taken is a full Council decision not just the Mayors.  For me the role of the Mayor in this situation is to ensure the Councillors are fully informed and then lead the decision-making process to get the best outcome for the community.
