If you are elected as Mayor and Franklin is now included in Greater Auckland - do you think it is important that existing phone charges currently classified as "toll calls" become free?

John,

Wouldn\'t that be nice.  I suppose that is one reason for the new City to insist fibre is laid down to Pukekohe.  I don\'t know the cost structures but I would be prepared to raise the question and follow it through.  That would certainly add to a feeling of a single city.  Great idea.  Would it still be free?  That is a big problem to discuss.  Worth some effort to acheive.

Hi John,

This hasnt been one of my top priorities but it makes sense so I can\'t see why not if it can be done in a reasonably hassle free and costly manner.

Hi John

That\'s a great idea. I\'d like to be able to promise you that phone charges such as the one you mention above would change under my leadership but then that would be the use of some empty words. I would have to talk to council staff to see what we could do if elected. I can\'t say right now what would happen. There are annual plan submissions held that you could raise your idea at. Make sure you get your submission in early to bring it to council\'s attention. And follow it up as well. And generally keep pushing until you get an answer.

Have a good night,

Shannon

thats a decision the telco companies have to make but cant see why not

Yes.

The Communist League joins with you in demanding that residential calls should be made without charge in Greater Auckland.
