1. Relieve traffic congestion by the establishment of a comprehensive and integrated public passenger transport system including rail, bus and ferries and a rail link to the Auckland International Airport, together with appropriate arterial roading improvements.
2. The creation of funding policies to achieve clearly defined and agreed social, economic and environmental priorities based on a fair and reasonable level of land and water rates for residential, business and rural properties across the region.
3. Support and advocate on behalf of the New Zealand Police in Auckland to create safer communities across our region aided by strong and well resourced community boards interacting with both the police and their communities.
4. Create an environment to stimulate strong economic growth to enhance prosperity for all people, and importantly, provide new jobs, especially for our young people. This will be assisted by eliminating unnecessary delays and costs in Council Resource and Building Consent processes.
5. Transplant the highly successful Manukau City Council community development philosophy across the region including free access to libraries and swimming pools and the provision of community programs to enhance the quality of life and standard of living for the rapidly expanding multi-cultural community.
