My wife Chris and I have farmed beef and sheep in the Kirikopuni Valley for 45 years. Roles in the community included chairman of five community organisations, delegate NZ Wool Board, 26 years Officer NZ Territorial Army (retired Major ED). Currently Vice−chairman Upper Wairoa Memorial Park Association, Farmers of New Zealand National Meat & Wool Chairman. Member Northland Regional Council Environmental Management Committee, Northland Beef and Sheep Council, Northland Animal Health Committee. I am standing as a councillor in the KDC West Coast−Central Ward to bring about change. I support the Kaipara Can Election plan for improved governance strategies. I have a lifetime of family experience in local body governance. I believe KDC increasingly squanders much of our money on consultants and salaries, service delivery gets slower, our ability to fund roads and infrastructure gets worse. KDC must work with other Northland councils sharing services, planning and reducing duplication.
