Vui is Samoan born and lives in Manukau. A former police officer, Vui currently works as a private investigator but has also had plenty of experience in sales and marketing. Vui currently represents the Samoan community on the Pacific Island Advisory Committee of the Manukau City Council, the Manurewa Pacific Leaders Forum and the Manurewa Advisory Group. He is also a member of both the Samoan Fale−lima Fono of the Auckland Region, and his Catholic Church Parish Pastoral Council. Vui holds seven Samoan customary high chief and orator titles from six different villages and has been involved with various community organisations holding roles such as President, Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. He advocates a great deal for many people he helps in the course of his work and community involvement.
