I am a lifelong local resident, a truly independent candidate, who will deliver strong representation with a common sense approach.

Happily married with three children, I have a track record of over 25 years involvement in West Auckland – with schools, churches, ratepayer groups, volunteers. I have actively lobbied council on library closures, parks development, youth events and provision of core services.

Trustee on Charitable Trusts 2004 -2008. Company Director of our IT Business, I have sat on various  executive committees such as  Te Atatu Resident and Ratepayers 2007- 2009,  school working groups, Property Association groups. Business networking groups.  My working background in based in the Banking and Legal Industries, with more recent involvement in Event Management .

Wise spending, consultation, fairness and practical solutions are important to me. I will work hard, listen carefully, challenge where needed. Importantly, I will promote family friendly policies that ensure we also care for our older folks and inspire our youth.

The local board’s role is to access the resources we need from Council. I will work with my fellow board members to bring the Henderson Massey area the best access to resources, and manage my responsibilities wisely .  My representation on the board will bring fresh perspective.

Top 5 Issues

  3. Leadership and Governance. Elect Board members who understand the political environment, and can use their previous experieince within this arena to lobby, for resources, funding , needs. Open and accountable dealings with all.
  4. Retaining the Harbourview land as a peoples Park. No further high rise development on the Peninsula .

Personal Profile

I am standing for Council because I believe its time for new faces, fresh vision and a Council that stays in touch with the everyday needs of ordinary rate paying citizens.  I’ve lived in Te Atatu & Henderson my whole life, I love this place, I know it well  and  I’m proud to live here, raise my family here, and get involved in the life of this community.

I am a mother, a wife, a leader, who believes I can make a difference within Council by influencing and making wise decisions based on good judgment and common sense.

I have been involved in community issues, lobbied Council. Written proposals, represented on committees in Council on a variety of issues for many years. I bring skills, experience and fresh vision onto the Board.  I want to work with others who can cohesively work together for the good of this wonderful city, laying aside agendas and alliances to make the best decisions on how services are provided and rates are spent.  I know I won’t have all the answers, and that people won’t agree with all I say and do.  But I will listen, and work hard to find the answers which are the best for this community.

My working background is based in the banking and Legal Industry, with Event Management in a voluntary capacity.  I presently work as an Electorate Agent for an Auckland MP. I am responsible  for setting budgets, managing all events, helping constituents and   co ordinating community projects.   I also have freelance journalism experience with articles published in a variety of magazines.  My husband and I run our own Consultancy business, consulting to companies who require specialist IT services.
