Born in Auckland in 1988, Toby Hutton is the first of the next generation of politically motivated New Zealanders who feel that "doing more of the same just won't do".

With the threat of low-flying commercial aircraft flying over Auckland's North Shore from a commercial airport at Whenuapai. Toby decided something needed to be done. So at just 19 years of age he launched his own political party to stop commercial aircraft from destroying the way of life so many on the North Shore enjoy.

The No Commercial Airport At Whenuapai Airbase Party was formed in April 2008 to contest the East Coast Bays electorate in the 2008 eneral election. Now thanks to Toby and other anti-airport groups, Whenuapai Airbase will remain an Air Force base for years to come.

The experience of running a political campaign on his own has spurred Toby on to run in the 2010 Auckland Council election for the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board on the North Now ticket.

Toby lives in Browns Bay. He went to Browns Bay Primary School and attended Rangitoto College. At the end of the seventh-form he enlisted in the New Zealand Army as a field engineer in the Territorial Force. At the same time Toby started work with an Auckland-based construction company with the hope of one day becoming a civil engineer.

Toby now devotes most of his time to the Territorial Force. He is a volunteer at the Museum of Transport and Technology in Western Springs and enjoys planting trees in his local community on council planting days.
