Thank you for the opportunity to represent you on the Spreydon-Heathcote Community Board over the past three years. I also chair the KidsFest Trust and am deputy chair of the Christchurch Digital Learning Trust.
From listening to your concerns, I understand consultation is key to the goals of enhancing our neighborhood, Port Hills and Heathcote River. I have worked hard in helping secure Ernle Clark reserve and the Mid-Heathcote MasterPlan.
Having lived in this community all my life, I understand local issues and needs. As a family man, I know the importance of resources like South Library, community and sporting facilities.
I will continue to be a strong community advocate representing you to ensure decent funding of these services, proper management of traffic and environmental concerns including protection of our green spaces and drinking water.
I’d be pleased to discuss your concerns and will make your vote count.

Hi
I am a dad who spends time in the local community and gets out to the sports fields each weekend. I know there are not enough sporting facilities or they have been closed all winter due to poor drainage. I will work to restore funding to local groups and community facilities like our sports grounds.
As a kid I spent my days playing in and around the Heathcote River, I want my kids to be able to enjoy the same pleasure so have been helping getting the Mid Heathcote Plan implemented which works towards this.
I am also committed to the South Learning Centre as deputy chair of the Christchurch Digital Learning Trust which is working to secure this valuable resource for the future.
As an Event Manager and Chair of the KidsFest trust, I know how to make things happen. For 10 years, I was an Event Manager for the City Council so I know the Council organisation and how it ticks.
I will continue to be a strong community advocate representing you to ensure decent funding and support of our community services to make it an even better place to live.
I would be more than happy to discuss any of your concerns and will make your vote count.

Hi Richard
The first thing was to secure this area of land for the future of all Christchurch which we have done.
The job now is to consult with the people of Christchurch for ideas and feed back on the possible uses of the park and go from there.
As for timelines, it is more of a matter of wait and see now as we have to concentrat on helping those in Christchurch get back to normal.
Thank you for your question.
Tim

My understanding is that Council staff work along side and consult with MTB clubs who also supply the volunteers who are mountain bikers and members of various MB clubs and organisations. And this is how the Council stays in touch and consultates with the users of this area and MB\'s in particular.
If this is not happening or not working I would be interested to know, as one of the most important positions I am standing on is consultation with the community which I feel is being lost or run poorly. Consultation can only be messured by how someone or an organisation acts on the information it has recieved, we are judged on how we act..
