I am a well respected sitting Councillor with considerable experience. I believe the 2010/2013 term of Council will require a time of consolidation after a period of capital expenditure resulting in unsustainable levels of debt. We need to focus on strengthening support for community organisations whose volunteers contribute so much to Wanganui's well-being. As a previous Waitotara County Councillor, I am very aware of the needs of the rural community. My experience includes having been Chair Wanganui Polytechnic, Chair Powerco Wanganui Trust, Chair Access, Trustee NZ Masters Games, Trustee Sport Wanganui, Chair Council Hearings Committee. A member of the Library Board, I'm also Chair of Computers In Home, and a Trustee on Whanganui River Enhancement Trust. I respect people's points of view, approach difficult decisions well prepared with an open mind and am very accountable. I look forward to the challenge of serving you for a further term.
