My name is Stuart Weir. I am a 37 year old husband, father of two school aged children, partner in a law firm and a long term resident of the Birkdale/Birkenhead area.
I attended Verrans Rd Primary, Birkdale Intermediate and Birkenhead College and have played soccer, cricket and softball at the local Birkenhead clubs.
Within our community I have served as Club Captain on the Birkenhead United soccer club committee and as Chairman of the Trust that owns the Rawene Community Centre in Highbury.
Through my involvement at management level of these community groups I have seen first hand the huge benefits that grant funding can bring to volunteer driven community organisations.
I am passionate about this community and offer my skills to serve the residents of Birkdale/Birkenhead/Northcote as a trustee of the BLT.

Top 5 Issues
- Transparency - I would like the public to have easy access to information about both the trading activities of the Trust and grants approved and declined by the Trust
- Business - I am keen to ensure that the Trust continues to trade profitably so that it maximises the funds available for grants
