My family and I made Buller our home 5 years ago and have never looked back. I work at Stockton as well as practising landscape architecture and graphic design. Buller’s future features some fantastic opportunities in natural resources and tourism but we need to do some work to truly benefit from these. We need to audit and develop proper long term planning that encompasses all stakeholders from industry to art to best cater for the districts growth. We need to recognise and understand the issues that face our most vulnerable people: youth and the elderly ensuring we offer better health, housing and support. We need to promote the district based on both the landscape and its people’s unique culture. We need to prioritize spending so that we are exceeding the basic needs of the community before we fund the non-essentials. I’m ready to roll my sleeves up.
