I want to get Auckland City going again. Firstly, we need the rapid rail system completed in a hurry. North Shore needs full Rail − not a couple of Bus lanes. There needs to be a new Eastern line through Pakuranga/Botany to Manukau and the airport. This system will take the most vehicles off our roads. The South−Western motorway completion is a priority also. Auckland city should become a power supplier (like Mercury) and use the profits for Auckland Projects. I plan to get tough on council wastage, reworking, and duplication. I will push to hold rates Large projects should be funded long−term so that the cost is spread out. This can be done by issuing council bonds (like Government stock) An iconic structure (Like Sydney's Opera house) needs to be built on the Tank Farm site to be a symbol of Auckland, instantly recognizable worldwide.

Conflicts of Interest
To the best of my knowledge and belief, I have no conflicts of interest with the Waitemata District Health Board at the date of my notice of consent to being nominated as a candidate for membership for the board of the District Health Board, and I do not believe that any such conflicts of interest are likely to arise in future.
