With the diverse range of skills required having qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, a Masters degree in Business Administration (UK) and practical management experience at senior levels.  This is coupled with strong community involvement, having lived in Auckland all my life and, amongst other activities, have had 19 years on the Parnell Community Committee, 3 years on the Hobson Community Board, deputy-chair Parnell Heritage and member of the Kinder House Society Committee.

 

Particular issues include:

• Responsible financial management.
• Ensuring provision of quality services.
• Elimination of unnecessary bureaucracy and administration.
• Preserving our heritage whilst respecting property rights.
• Encouraging a vibrant, culturally diverse, safe community for everyone to enjoy.

Top 5 Issues

1. Keeping the "Local" in local government by ensuring that the community's voice is heard. Thsi can be achieved by supporting strong communities of interest.
2. Responsible fiscal management such that every rate-payer dollar is well spent.
3. Having a city that we can get around integrating:
   - Public Transport that works and that we want to use.
   - Private transport options.
   - Cycling and walking.
4. Heritage preservation keeping the features we want retained while respecting private property rights and the need to enhance our city.
5. Preserving and developing the icty by protecting the environment and encouraging quality development.
