I am married with six children and have lived in Te Kohanga for 22 years. On joining the OTCB mid term I have enjoyed working with the committees to which I have been appointed, in particular the TDDA, their enthusiasm is inspiring. I suggested a cycle/walkway along side the railway lines from Tuakau to Pukekohe, they have run with idea in conjunction with the fight to restore commuter rail. I believe we need affordable and convenient public transport and an affordable option for rubbish disposal, a free organic collection once or twice a year would be a good start. I have concerns regarding the speed limits outside our schools. Te Kohanga Primary is on a 100k road, Auckland and Waitakere have flashing green 40k signs either side of school entrances that come before and after school. A child has a chance at 40k no chance at 100k.
