Top 5 Issues
- DON'T WASTE THE RATES - SPEND WISELY
Efficient use of public money -- rates used for essential projects including needed road upgrades, integrated public transport system, well-maintained parks and reserves, and supporting community centre programmes. Keep an eye on efficiency of them. Cost saving by prevention of vandalism, crime, and anti-social behaviour, introducing latest high-tech surveillance monitoring system in cooperation with police. Cutting down your rates to the lowest as a result. - KEEP GRASS-ROOTS DEMOCRACY
Strengthen the Local Board function through listening to individuals, community groups, business interests, associations and various parts of organisations empowered. Assisting to make a robust Auckland Super City council, and advising on local issues and concerns. - EFFECTIVE INFRASTRUCTURE INITIATIVES AND ROAD DESIGN
To boost wellbeing (stress-reduction) of people, through fine, efficient traffic system and smart initiatives as required. e.g. Extension of public transport, good road and transportation engineering, and bus lanes can be used by vehicles with four or more occupants, to encourage car-pooling, and looking at its additional initiatives. - VIBRANT BUSINESS, TRADE, EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY
To develop a progressive and cohesive Upper Harbour area, I will promote international trade for businesses in my region, and induce more educational and cultural interactions and exchanges, more international students to schools in the area, with help given to any pastoral support network issues. Facilitate enhanced community libraries with more new books and digital resources. - DEVELOPMENT WHILE KEEPING CLEAN, GREEN IMAGE
Putting environmental issues as a high priority while developing our area for the long-term best. Keep encouraging voluntary groups clean-up job of parks, reserves and bush area. Plant more trees and shrubs in urban environment - roadsides and reserves.
Personal Profile
As a Korean-born New Zealander, I have a dream to make New Zealand much better. I put value on our country NZ's clean, green image in particular is important for a long-term goal, and it must be preserved as long as we see the lesson of industrialisation ignoring natural beauty some overseas. It made me a passionate vounteer for our community in various parts of organisations in cooperation with City Council.
Now I am focusing on Grass-Roots Democracy with accountable common sense governance in the Super City. Listening to the residents first in Upper Harbour Local Board area I will make my dream reality, while doing my voluntary work continuously for our community .
