Top 5 Issues
- The people know what is needed in their community, the connection between community and council needs to be seamless. It is about giving the grassrootsof the community the opportunity and the tools to greater and more informed access to council and how decisions are made. Being approachable
- Ensuring that the core business of the council is taken care of and strengthened, as with the recent disaster, without the"taken for granted amenities" such as water, electricity and sewerage we are left as a city ,in a very vunerable position.
- We need to build a self reliant community, by supporting local businesses and bringing pride to the area that we are a part of. Building stronger communities will result in a strong and vibrant city that we can all proud of
- Transparency and accountibility, ensuring the decisions that are made at the council table are a fair representation of what the communities and city want.
- The redevelopment of our inner city infrastructure to future proof what will be built.
Sustainability and development need to go hand in hand.
