Born and educated in Wanganui, I am a descendant of the Sanson Family of Ohakea and Manawatu area.

I established a School of Dance in Wanganui, and as Principal for many years my achievements are well known throughout Wanganui City and the District.

As wife of Gerald McDouall, former Bank Manager, who was also a District Councillor and Deputy Mayor, I have knowledge of the time commitments and responsibilities of Local Government.

I am a past YWCA Board member, Past President of the Rotary Club of Wanganui, and an Honorary Life Member of the Royal Wanganui Opera House.

In 1998 I was honoured with the Queen’s Service Medal.

I am now able to devote time to a new challenge in the best interests of the City and District.

I believe careful planning, good management and good governance are required to ensure Ratepayers get the best value for their rates.
