I'm pleased to have been a Kaiapoi councillor on a council which held rate rises close to inflation over the past three years.
This was my key 2007 election pledge and the new council delivered.
Waimakariri's 10−year plan holds rates to inflation over the next decade so Kaiapoi and the district will have one of the lowest rate increases in New Zealand.
The hard−fought council services review is now delivering savings. Less spent on consultants. More work in−house. More savings to come.
I'm chuffed to have led the debate to bring building services in−house.
Now we have cheaper hourly rates and less staff delivering a better service.
Kaiapoi is a fabulous place with big challenges in attracting business and jobs. I'm keen to be on a council which delivers on the new town centre revitalisation plan.
It's been a privilege to represent you.
I ask again for your vote.
