Porirua is a city rich in cultural diversity, arts and sporting achievement with a growing reputation for business development and environmental enhancement. As Mayor I would want to see this success continue as well as providing leadership for the challenges facing us. On central city rejuvenation and estuary recovery I want to advance work based on the sound planning already in train. Forming a clear position on possible future governance arrangements for the region is looming as a major issue. Some community debate may assist the Council in reaching a clear view. 

On rating, I believe that the incoming Council will have to exercise ever greater care than before. With issues such as education and children's health, I intend to be a strong Porirua advocate to government. I intend to be a mayor for the whole city. Tutira mai nga iwi.
