Rosanne Hawarden is concerned that the public system will not provide the health care you need when you need it.  As a qualified nurse and midwife and Independent Citizens Health Team leader, she promises to redirect your tax dollars to front-line health.

With strong financial and IT management skills, Rosanne will work for a cost effective service supporting the elderly and vulnerable, without long waiting times.  She will promote an untouched clean water supply and illness prevention through reducing obesity.

She is a Medical Radiation Technologists Board member and owns a successful software company. With her son soon to complete medical school, Rosanne appreciates the importance of health professionals receiving the necessary resources.

Rosanne is internationally recognised for her doctoral research into women directors. She chairs a migrant organisation which received a Christchurch City Council Civic Award in 2009.

Comment from  Rosanne Hawarden - the President of Independent Citizens  (iCitz)

We are expecting an interesting and strongly contested election with voters moving away from the left to the centre right.   We have a strong team of
carefully selected, high calibre candidates, a good mix of elected councillors and community board members as well as new candidates.

We are fielding a strong Health Board team with myself as the iCitz Health Team leader, with all five candidates either health professionals or having extensive links with professions servicing the health industry.

Independent Citizens (iCitz) is a broad based grouping of independents. We tend to attract candidates from the political centre and fiercely guard our independence.  No Independent Citizens candidate can be forced to vote in any particular way.  He or she is able to exercise his/her own judgement. We do not enquire from our candidates what their political affiliations are.

We do not have a mayoral candidate and are not endorsing any candidates. Independent Citizens (iCitz) has no local or national political party affiliations.

Independent Citizens (iCitz) select, support and endorse quality candidates based on their own individual merits to ensure a brighter future for Canterbury through strong civic representation.

Strong history, bright future. Independent Citizens (iCitz)  backing winners.  www.independentcitizens.org.nz
