I love this place and will work hard to protect the things we cherish while building a smart local economy that delivers sustainable prosperity for us all.

My family stretches back three generations here. I’m committed to leaving a legacy for our children by keeping our libraries free and well funded, saving our special trees, conserving our water, and protecting our natural and built heritage.

I’m also ambitious for our city wanting to improve our quality of life. I want us to be able to cycle safely to work, harvest fruit off our street trees, swim safely in the river, and have more local farmer’s markets.

I work in central government as an economics and conservation advisor. I serve on the Family Centre Board, work with young people, and volunteer on local beach and forest restorations. I have a big heart for my community and the eco-smarts to lead it.

1. Protect our heritage. I will:
   >> Restore of our natural spaces, returning the dawn chorus;
   >> Promote smart development preserving our character homes and neighbourhood;
   >>Protect our special trees and plant community fruit trees.
   
2. Conserve our natural resources. I will:
   >> Support rainwater tanks not water meters or an expensive dam;
   >> Keep our water free and in public ownership;
   >> Restore the Hutt River making it safe for our kids to swim in again.
3. Deliver smarter travel choices. I will:
   >> Ease congestion on our roads with better bus and train services;
   >> Build safe and attractive walking and cycling trails throughout the Valley;
   >> Invest in smoother road surfaces to reduce road noise in our communities.
4. Love our libraries & keep them free. I will:
   >> Keep our library free of fees or charges for borrowing books;
   >> Retain branch libraries in the communities that want them;
   >> Enhance the Central collection
