My commitment to Auckland began 12 years ago as chairperson of the Auckland Youth Council.
I have the energy to work with you to create a vibrant inner-city. I am committed to zero sewage in the Hauraki Gulf; improved public transport; building strong communities and local boards; and protecting Auckland's assets. I support initiatives for young people, and recognise the unique environments of Waiheke Island and Great Barrier Island.
I grew up in Newmarket and on Waiheke, I am a local Rotarian, and a University of Auckland graduate. I have first hand experience developing Auckland's rail on the Britomart project, reviewing performance of council business units in Wellington and the City of Westminster London.
I live in Grey Lynn and I love our neighbourhood.
For five months, I door knocked and listened to your views. With a bit of creativity and a long term plan we can build a great community. I will work closely with others to make this happen. Let's protect Auckland's heritage buildings; have an arts and cultural strategy for the innercity; separate sewage pipes in Herne Bay, Westmere, and St Mary's Bay so you can safely swim at the beach; a solution for Soho Square that works with the neighbourhood; restore Newmarket Park; finish the pedestrian walkway around Hobson Point; and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
So much can be done. Give me a chance and I'll make a difference.
