1. As Mayor I would endeavor to work with all groups to protect our unique environment and help make Taupo a prosperous, safe and healthy place for families and visitors to enjoy. I feel it is important to create opportunities for employment and education to grow our town in the right direction for future generations.
2. Our future prosperity should be built upon Taupo’s strengths – People, culture, resources and natural beauty.
   
   I will use all my experience and ability to work actively to achieve clear goals within a positive, hard working united Council.
   
3. As much as I love Taupo I have been disappointed with the lack of unity in our Council. I believe a collective approach is the most positive step forward for our district.

Personal Profile

Rex Charles Mincher aged 47 years. Married to Shona, step dad to Matthew, Alouette and Josephine, dad to  Amelia. Moved to Taupo 3 years ago to enjoy the Taupo lifestyle with his wife and young family.  A successful small business owner  for over 25 years, currently employing up to 40 staff within 3 companies.  A college life geared towards a career in accountancy or business ownership. A competitive sportsman with a continuing passion for motorbikes, skiing, golf and soccer.  A history of not only building but, being a pro-active member of any team in business, sport  and community.
