As your Wellington Regional council representative for the past three terms and prior to that as Upper Hutt Mayor, I have strenuously represented the needs and interests of the Upper Hutt people. This extensive local governement experience I possess will be vital for the next three years as we face some very challenging issues such as amalgamation/reorganisation and water/water meters.

Reorganisation, which could result in amalgamation for Upper Hutt, ending its autonomy and financial advantage is a major concern for myself and for many residents. I will continue to work with Upper Hutt City to assure the city retains its identity.

Whilst water conservation is necessary the push by some within the region for water meters at high cost would be devastating for residents,given other options.

I have no political bias so can ensure Upper Hutt's voice is heard when decisions are made on issues.
