I am standing for the Paekakariki Community Board because I love living in this community. The current board has done a very good job and I am keen to join them in actively protecting what we have as well as supporting pragmatic and affordable initiatives to improve it over the next three years. I firmly believe that Community Boards are a vital link between small communities and council and make it easier for people to raise concerns at local level. I support Adrian’s stance on seeking a rating system that takes more regard of those on fixed incomes, pursuing improvement of the SH1 intersection, actively protecting and enhancing QE Park and would like to see the reserve at the southern end of Ames Street tidied up.
