Ray is standing for Mayor after serving 13 years as councillor in various positions the Chairman of Community Development of late. Ray has several area’s he has an interest in achieving results. Sustainable rate increases with an inflation ceiling is the primary target. Curbing unnecessary capital expenditure runs alongside this objective. The delivery of a serviced based value for the rating dollar is important. The options for early loan reductions will be brought to council early in the new term to allow them to be added to new Annual Plan. Anti Social behaviour is high on Ray’s agenda for the new term. The collaboration of all members of the recently accredited Safer Wanganui will be a huge step toward this goal. Promotion of Wanganui as a safe and healthy community is paramount. Finally the Bad Neighbour By-Law will be introduced early to the new council to ratify.
