Rangi has a long and distinguished history of working for the Manurewa community in many roles. He is chairperson of the Manurewa Maori Wardens, Te Wharekura o Manurewa and Te Oranga Kaumatua Kuia Disability Services. He is a trustee of the Manurewa Marae and for the last twelve years on the Wiri Licensing Trust. Funding from the Trust helps people of all ages. Rangi is so glad that the trustees are competent, and so proud that the Trust funds diverse community organisations such as the annual community Christmas in the Park hosted by St Elizabeth's Church; digital breast screening equipment; residents'/ratepayer groups; sports groups; schools; the guiding movement; parent groups; and the Manurewa Hospice. He says that everyone should have opportunities to participate in their community. He wants to keep supporting Manurewa. He respectfully asks for your vote and for his very competent collegues, your Team Manurewa.
