Personal Profile
The Citizens & Ratepayers team is a group of individual thinkers with diverse backgrounds who compliment each others strengths to form the strongest and most effective team for Orakei. I am standing as part of the C&R team because I believe in what our team can deliver for Orakei residents:
- Being the strongest voice for local residents on regional policies and planning
- Forging complimentary relationships with local business associations, residents associations and community leaders to keep the local voice active
- Limit the visual pollution plaguing the Orakei Ward
- Form direct links with the Auckland Transport CCO for the development of a transport master plan for Orakei taking into consideration the competing needs of motorists, cyclist, and pedestrians and linking public transport options
- Maintain control over the preservation of the unique characteristics that define our villages, streets and heritage so that our ward is not consumed by bad urban planning
- Strike a sustainable balance by getting the basics right for Orakei
Given the gravity of the task at hand, the C&R team will spend the time necessary identifying the priorities for Orakei and develop a strategic plan that allows us to obtain maximum ratepayer benefit while achieving affordable progress. We will seek and listen to your input and will communicate to you how we will deliver on our promises so that you can monitor our progress and make us accountable to you.
As a young family living in this ward, we utilise the amenities here extensively and I want to see them preserved and further enhanced. This is one of the best areas of Auckland to live in, and those that don't live here visit our beaches and cafes often. However, the needs to local residents is paramount; I and the Board will ensure the "local" is prioritised in everything we sign off on!
I would be honoured to have your support.
