Mayor:
If you want to know what motivates me to become Mayor of the New Plymouth District, the answer is simple.
It's where Kim and I want to bring up our family of three school age boys, so I want to give something back to a community that's been great to the Quinneys.
There are knockers who try and belittle what New Plymouth's achieved, but most of us know there's no where else in the world they would rather work and bring up their family.
Think carefully about who you want leading the New Plymouth District in the next three years. Do you want a negative or politically motivated Mayor? Or someone committed to maintaining the progress New Plymouth has achieved in recent years?
If you love New Plymouth, give me your support and I promise to help write some more success stories for this fantastic place.
Councillor:
When I first stood for Council I said that a visionary Council could make our District the envy of New Zealand. Three terms later, I'm proud to be a member of a Council that's helped New Plymouth mature into a thriving, vibrant and safe community to bring up families.
It's easy to say no to opportunities because that's what you think voters want to hear. But great communities are built by leaders with the vision and courage to say yes to the right projects. As part of a family with three school age boys I've been a strong supporter of major events and I'm proud to see the TSB Bowl of Brooklands finally recognised as a truly world class venue.
If you love this district as much as I do, give me your support to keep working to ensure the district prospers − not stall under a cloud of negativity.
