HOWICK NEEDS A FRESH AND DYNAMIC APPROACH TO SUCCEED IN THE NEW SUPER CITY!

Old style politics and past council experience will not be enough for the new Super City! Four cities will merge to form the largest city in Australasia and Howick needs strong representation within this.

The multi-city merger is similar to a multi-company merger with planning, logistics and administration needing quick attention to ensure there is minimal disruption for you.

There is little room for political grandstanding, but Howick needs to be heard during this change.

I have grown up in Howick and take pride in being part of the local community.

I live in Howick with my family, and like you I want to see Howick move forward.

I have considerable local, national and international business experience, which will be of real benefit as the Super City develops.

Howick needs a strong voice for the future!

From Howick, For Howick!

Top 5 Issues

  1. Howick needs a strong voice within the new Super City!
  2. The formation of the new Super City will involve a number of complex logistical challenges to say the least, and what's needed is strong business acumen to ensure Howick doesn't get lost in chaos!
  3. Howick business needs to develop further and attract more people to visit and spend money in the local area. Ideas such as closing off part of Picton Street on a Saturday morning to extend the market need to be explored and encouraged.
  4. Even though Howick has it's own local board to address local opportunities and issues, it is still part of the greater Howick Ward and needs to promote stronger coordination between between the Howick, Pakuranga and Botany Local Boards for the benefit of the greater area.
  5. We very much need to resolve the issue of the proposed Marae in the Garden of Memories once and for all and move on, and move past this!

Personal Profile

ABOUT ME

I grew up in the Howick area, going to Bucklands Beach Primary, Bucklands Beach Intermediate and then Macleans College schools. I fondly remember paddocks in Meadowlands, working after school at 3-Guys supermarket and busy late night shopping on a Thursday night in Howick.

Those days have moved on and so have I.

After graduating from the University of Auckland I was fortunate enough to be offered an international business role based in Edinburgh, Scotland. My now wife and I enjoyed almost a decade living abroad before returning to Howick to start a family. My toddler daughter, my wife and I currently reside in Howick and intend to do so for many years to come.

I have played an active role in the local community for a number of years as a firefighter within the Howick Volunteer Fire Brigade, which I belonged to as a volunteer until recently. I have also participated in a number local ANZAC Day Parades and Howick Santa Parades and have always taken pride in being directly involved in Howick.

I believe I can offer the Howick Local Board a dynamic and fresh approach which will be of real value in the formation of the new Super City.
