I have been encouraged by a large number to stand for a third term in the Eastern Ward. I have a good understanding of plans and the rather complicated Council financial systems. I am quite prepared to speak and vote against items that I don't believe are good for the district, either short or long term. I voted against the council's preferred option for the second bridge, Grove Street. This is too narrow to allow trucks and cyclists long term and there are no easy exit options.  I am a hands on farmer, farming dairy support and crop in partnership with my wife and son. I have been on many committees most in a lead role. I have a life membership from Rugby. I have chaired Meat and Fibre in more profitable times and been honoured twice for dedication and leadership for 29 years in St. John.
