Greetings
The 'Supercity' is the most radical change ever in how Auckland is governed and demands a new fresh approach in how we are represented locally.
There has been much debate about the reasons and need for the 'Supercity' and we will all have varied views on that, however it is absolutely clear that we must now get on and make it work for us.
There is more than ever a requirement for strong, new, fresh candidates to represent us locally and I am standing for the Whau Local board as I believe I can offer the required enthusiasm, integrity and skills to serve the community well.
Local boards will be making many decisions that will affect you and will also need to be active in listening to our communities and representing our views to the Auckland Council.
My professional background is in Operations and Project Management in the Dairy and food ingredient manufacturing industries and I bring relevant skills in handling conflicting priorities and ensuring stakeholder’s requirements are heard and met and in managing projects to budget and on time.
I am Independent and therefore free able to represent fairly and openly community concerns and interests towards achieving the best decisions and outcomes.
This new Whau ward encompasses parts of the current Waitakere and Auckland cities and includes a fascinating diversity of cultures which deserve to be fostered and represented strongly to Council through our local board.
Whau also covers incredible environments spanning from The Manukau to the Waitemata and including environmentally significant stretches of coastal edge on both harbours.
I have lived in Blockhouse Bay for 6 years and enjoy this area and all it offers.
If elected I will
- Act with integrity
- Be an advocate for the local community to council
- Argue for Value for money for our rates
- Argue for a Fair share of our rates coming back to our area
- Advocate for Whau’s place in the wider Auckland
Choose me to represent you on the Whau Local Board
Top 5 Issues

Bringing together the parts of Waitakere and Auckland that now make up Whau.
Developing our identity and ensuring we take our part within Auckland whilst still retaining that local identity.
Making sure the community voice and concerns are conveyed to the new council.
This will require listening and following up locally.
This also means recognising and fostering the many and diverse cultures that call the Whau area home. - Rates are a growing financial burden for many and I will work to ensure
Rates are spent wisely - "Value for money"
A fair share of our rates come back to our area
Advocacy that rate rises are kept to the minimum necessary to deliver the services we need. - Transport planning and traffic management remain vital areas of common concern for alll who travel within Auckland
We need continued involvement in the completion of the SH20 extension to ensure local and environmental concerns are monitored whilst allowing the completion to be in as timely a manner as possible. - Safer communities
Community involvement in tackling the likes of graffiti and in supporting families to provide strong role models for the young before they get into trouble.
Supporting the police and the community groups already doing great work in this area. - Improved recreaton and amenity areas.
