Pesio is Samoan born and New Zealand raised with over 20 years experience working with local grass roots communities, in particular Pacific communities. Her background is in community action and community development, tertiary education and public health training within the community. Pesio is married with 3 children and has lived and worked in South Auckland for the past 30 years. Pesio's community involvement includes coordinating the Otara Gambling Action Group and advocacy against problem gambling and alcohol venues. Pesio and her husband are senior leaders at Lifechurch in Manurewa with a focus on pastoral care for married couples and their families. With extensive experience in local communities, public health and community development, Pesio has complete competence to represent the community at local government. Her strong Christian values enhance her commitment to build strong and resilient communities in South Auckland.
