During my 35 years living in Franklin, there has been tremendous growth, both in urban and rural areas. As part of the new Auckland City growth will continue, there is no doubt. The challenge will be to manage that development in both the urban and rural areas. Urban expansion must be where the transport links and jobs are. As business expands south, the Local Board will want to encourage those who create jobs and protect our environment, including the rural township lifestyle we so enjoy. Another area of interest is Franklin's history. We must ensure that policies allow for the continued preservation of the history and identity of our area. Please vote for Des Morrison and all our Team Franklin candidates.
