My name is Paora Te Hurihanganui and I have lived in Rotorua the majority of my life, with short work and study periods abroad. 

I am the general manager of a local charitable trust currently working within the sport and health sectors and have previously worked in tourism and education. 

I am a qualified secondary school teacher and have worked in primary, secondary and tertiary education. A personal educational highlight is being trained in international politics and the UN systems in Greenland. 

I have a diverse background in the arts as a contemporary artist, travelled extensively internationally and competed regionally, nationally and internationally in numerous sports. 

My greatest achievement is being married to Jo and surviving two young daughters under the age of three. 

I am concerned about environmental issues, crime prevention and look to promote fair representation for minority voices.
