As a rate payer of many years, I am proud to call New Plymouth home. I value New Plymouth for being a vibrant, innovative, proactive and positive community and I wish to help keep it that way.

I believe that the New Plymouth District Council is faced with some challenging circumstances needing balanced and informed discussion at council level prior to decisions being made. It is important to ensure that rate payers are not overburdened by having to pay for decisions financed either by imprudent borrowing or excessive rate rises. Innovative ways need to be found for the NPDC to produce new non−rates based income streams (for example, venue entry charges for non−residents).

I offer my experience of having already served in both management and governance positions. If elected, I will use my proven ability in governance to work for fiscally prudent win−win solutions.
