I'm 54, with the energy and strong commercial background to make a professional contribution to our council. I have a commerce degree from Canterbury and for the last 11 eleven years my business Dowie Continental has traded successfully in Nelson's CBD. I am an active participant in the Chamber of Commerce Nelson Business Group, and I recognise the tough choices which the new council will face. My priority will be to champion a transparent decision making process which respects our ratepayers and balances development with fiscal restraint. I live in Atawhai, I'm married with 3 adult children and my interests include recreational fishing, sailing and walking. It's time for a change in our council, I can promise a willingness to respect your views, and to provide the leadership to secure the future of the Nelson we know and love.
