After nine years on Council I can make an informed and experienced contribution to our city. As a director of a large mretail company I believe Upper Hutt’s CBD reflects the difficult economic conditions felt throughout New Zealand. Council must provide good infrastructure and a safe attractive city for shoppers and businesses so we are ready when the market improves. I support the dog walking ratepayers who want to continue walking through our parks. Our new library must have accessible and good parking. I will defend the elements in our District Plan that make our city a special place to live. I believe Council’s rate demand should recognise the hardship felt by many families. Upper Hutt to be effective in the region needs strong leadership and sound financial management. These are our strengths. I am married to Peter a GP and we have lived in Upper Hutt for 33 years.
