As a local ratepayer for the past 35 years with active involvement in the community I have sound knowledge of local affairs. As a recent councillor I have been able to represent the National Park Ward effectively when it counts and would like the opportunity to build on this experience.

The National Park Ward is diverse in character with a strong farming community and an expanding visitor industry based around the conservation estate.

I believe the mostly small owner−operated business's here will prosper with a forward looking Council and active, involved community representatives. The national cycleway will bring a new dimension to our visitor industry and I am determined to see that our Ward and Ruapehu District make the most of the opportunity.

I strongly back the Council work to improve our basic infrastructure such as the road network and utilities to meet current needs and to support this growth.
