    community is an prosperous community.
    - We need to support our industries, the growers and farmers.
    - We need to support tourism and major events, that bring visitors and their money to our community.

    - We need to ensure our streets are safe, and that alcohol is used responsibly.
    - We need to ensure that the elderly are cared for.
    - We need great recreation areas which are fenced for pre-schoolers.
    - We need to ensure that our people are able to and encourage into physical activity

Personal Profile

Moira’s husband , Steven, suffered a major stroke at Christmas 2008, and then a serious complication in 2010, which has given the family an insight into the needs of the disabled, and the outstanding support that the local community can offer.

  • Father’s family (Boyle) arrived in Franklin in 1865
  • Of Ngai Tahu decent.
  • Married to  Steven for 13 years .
  • Settled in Franklin 12 years ago.
  • 3 children Madeline 8, Vincent 6 and Giselle 5 who attend Bombay School.

Education

  • Proxieme Accessit of Papatoetoe High School.
  • Represented school in hockey and squash.
  • Holds Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours from Massey University.
  • Played social hockey, represented University in Women's rugby.

Professional

  • Worked in Product Development, Sales and Management for corporate and multi-national companies in New Zealand and UK.
  • Managed NZ arm of Swiss multinational.
  • Selected for  inaugural J&J Young Leaders Program.
  • Professional member  of NZIFST, served as Chairman of the Auckland Branch and on national council.
