Qualifications/Experience: Employed by NZ Wool Board, attended Massey and Lincoln Colleges.   Employed by NZ Government as a Civil Engineering Contractor.   Forestry Operations Supervisor for CHH for thirty years (Civil Engineering).   Responsible for multi-million dollar budget.   Manager for Whangarei Bus Service (after retirement).   Ex-Board Member of Te Rangi Tahe Trust.   Budgetary Officer, ex-Corrections Dept assistant, over 30 years as SWDC ratepayer, and Committee Member SW Greypower.   My priorities are:

• to hold rates to the level of inflation, then to a nil increase, finally a decrease while maintaining services at current levels
• to ensure greater transparency and accountability by Council to the ratepayer
• that decisions on major expenditure items are made not by Council but by ratepayers by way of a simple newspaper poll.
