My name is Mavis Andrew. I have now been one of your elective Councillors for two terms. I have resided in Waimate for 20 years. I am married to Ross and have three adult sons. I have found my time as a Councillor to be both challenging and rewarding. The areas I have covered during my two terms are Health, Welfare and Aged Care, Parks and Reserves and Waitaki Lakes.

The matters that I have found most rewarding and interesting to me are; Health, Welfare, Aged Care and Civic Pride.

In my view, Waimate looks set for a great future including proposals such as Meridan Energy, Hunter Downs Irrigation and projects that are likely to benefit the town through employment.

I have put my name forward with enthusiasm for a third term. I would like to represent the people of Waimate and be privileged to advance some of these projects.
