I have represented, promoted and supported Lakes District Health Board (LDHB) for 6 years, and fully accept the workload and responsibilities this brings. A former radiographer of 25 years experience and recently appointed to the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board, my experience and qualifications in Health and work in Hospitals and Private X−Ray Rooms, are skills I bring to the Board. My work on the NZ Problem Gambling Foundation is also relevant. With reduced budgets in Health I am aware of concerns that administration seems to outweigh the Nursing and Cleaning in Hospitals. We need to revisit this. I support the establishment of Centres of Excellence in Health. I see Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a specialised centre for massage, pain relief, recuperation, rehabilitation, and beauty therapy in our "Spa City" with commercial opportunity and investment to support it. It is another jewel in our crown. Let's not overlook it.
