My name is Matt Wepa and I am a self−employed bookwriter. 

The characteristics that I bring to this position are; 

competence, communication and articulation this enables me to explain in clear biological terms factors affecting the environment e.g. the historical filtration of chemicals in the soil due to long term farming practices. The pollution rate vs the recovery rate. 

The Muaopoko of Levin are using Harakeke as a dispensing agent of industrial pollution on Lake Horowhenua. This method of pollution control is applicable to Rotorua conditions. 

In 6 years this seat has been in existence, our people have had no form of communication as to current developments from a Maori perspective. 

Why? Maori need to be concerned about a) The Governments Water Management Act and its application to the lakes settlement b) How the new ward wide elections will affect Maori.
