A socially minded person with a drive for developing and supporting the community. Resident of Mt Edenfor 30 years, I have worked, married and educated my three children locally. As Marketing and Communications Manager for the SPCA Auckland my role has allowed me the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the workings of Auckland local government. Prior to the SPCA I spent 27 years in corporate management including an international posting to the UK. I believe in taking an active role in the community. Currently as Chairman of NZ's largest Rugby Club, Grammar Carlton, member of the Cornwall Park Sports Association Management Committee. I'm a past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for one of Auckland's premier academic schools, Marist College and served on the Maungakiekie Youth Trust. I want to ensure Eden/Epsom has strong representation to protect its future and preserve its unique heritage from shortsighted decisions.

Top 5 Issues

  1. Rates must be affordable and spend controlled. Councils are in place to provide services to the community not a profit centre or as an empire builder.
We need to protect the rights of the ratepayer.

  2. Public transport needs to be effective and affordable with greater vision for the future.
  3. Ensure that we keep the local voice well to the fore in the new Super City. We can't be railroaded by demands of inter city vanity and bullying.
  4. Retain the green spaces throughout Eden/Epsom and ensure that playing and sporting fields are always available for our youth.
  5. Eden/Epsom must have strong representation to protect its future and preserve its unique heritage from shortsighted decisions.
