As a Primary School Principal, I am proud to have worked in partnership with the ILT to establish outstanding educational opportunities for students and teachers in Invercargill.  These include Enrich@ILT and the biannual Educational Conference.

I believe that by encouraging innovation and thinking outside the square, the ILT can foster similar opportunities in other sectors.  I would relish the chance to help expand the Trust's work to meet our community's broader needs.

The ILT is an incredible asset for our city, and is behind most of Invercargill's facilities and programmes that others envy. To continue its good work, the Trust must stay in tune with the community and develop a shared vision for the future.

I'm renowned for seeking the truth, speaking my mind and acting from the heart.  I would bring those qualities to the Trust and support initiatives that will enhance Invercargill's social, economic, educational and recreational opportunities.

Personal Profile

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” Dr Seuss

Dr Seuss and I have a lot in common. We both care about the education of children and we are both unafraid to speak from our minds and our hearts when it matters.

I am the principal at Salford School in Invercargill and have held that position for 5 years. I have had the good fortune to gather some useful experiences as a member of SPPA executive; convening the bi-annual ILT conference, which has an international reputation and being director of enrich@ILT.

I am a Mother of three children; Lloyd 22. Ellie 17, Matt 9

The ILT have made many new possibilities and opportunities available that have had and continue to have a positive impact on our children's lives. I find this incredibly heartening and would like to be able to contribute to these continuing; by developing new initiatives and continuing to make Invercargill a city of educational and recreational excellence.

Our facilities, many supported by funding made available from the Trust is the envy of NZ.

My partner David is a local policeman at Bluff and is always supportive of my endeavours.

I am Invercargill born and bred, I am proud to live in this city and love giving something back to the community.

Last week I received a Civic Award from the Invercargill City Council in recognition of my continuing service to advanced education.

Invercargill is a city where dreams can become a reality.
