After nearly 12 years as a councilor in CHB I thought I had done my bit but the support I have been getting has persuaded me to try again. 

My experience and commonsense will be invaluable as the inevitable merger draws nearer. As a past chairman of the finance committee I will make sure that your rates are spent as wisely as possible. 

I have lived in Central Hawke's Bay all my life and have seen many changes. The level of rates is a concern but the LTCC plan shows that the increases for the next 10 years should be in line with inflation. 

The challenges facing the rural community are real and need to be factored in to many of the decisions the new council will make. 

I am approachable and enjoy meeting people and if elected will be a strong advocate for the rural ratepayer.
