I am 57 years old, married with 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren. Resides in the district. Personal interests include family, gardens, our natural heritage, livestock and cars.
Currently employed as a Training Advisor and Industry Assessor to the Building and Construction Industry.

Committed to the region, and served as a District Councillor, from 1992 to1995, gaining experience in all aspects of Council.
Well rounded, with having a sound understanding of the long term Council Community Plan, Local Government, Education, Rural, Industry and Commercial Business.

Reasons for standing, we are at a fork in the road and need to ensure we continue to grow our region by facing the difficult challenges. Working collectively, to find the best long term solutions for all parties.

I am the youngest of four children, from a farming family in Apiti to the north of the District. I was educated at the local Primary School before attending Feilding High School.
I am married to Christine and we have 3 adult children and 3 grand children.
I have worked in the district most of my life, and initially trained as a carpenter before becoming self employed and operating several businesses in the wider Region.
I have over the years been very involved in the community, tasked with specific challenges in leadership roles including kindergartens, North St School and the Feilding Community Patrol.
As a former Councillor [1992 to 1995] I understand Local Government and was proud to be a part of several early visionary concepts and initiatives including Manfield park, Feilding Promotion, the Central Business area Redevelopment program and Feilding Community Patrol, all of which have grown to form foundation cornerstones of the community as we know it today.
I have wide and balanced experience in business and very much understand the challenges and current hardships faced by all sectors of the community including Rural, Commercial and the Service Industry.
I am employed as a Training Advisor/ Industry Assessor to the Building and Construction Industry. This provides me with an opportunity to keep grounded and in touch with our youth, the wider Community, neighbouring regions and how we compare nationally.
I am hard working, very approachable and always willing to understand another view.
I see we are approaching another fork in the road, so feel it is time to get involved again, to ensure we look for fresh new initiatives and ways to deal with the current challenges facing not just our local Community, but the wider Region also.
If we are to continue to grow as a District we must continue to attract industry and ongoing employment opportunities in the wider region.
