I have lived and worked in the Waitati area for 35 years. My introduction to Waitati was as a gardener at Orokonui Hospital. About this time my wife, Clare and I purchased our own 4 acres, known then as Pop Crawford's market garden. This was the beginnings of Blueskin Nurseries. Today my wife, Clare manages the garden centre and cafe while I look after growing plants for our own business and other garden centres and landscapers throughout New Zealand. I have enjoyed being actively involved with a number of committees and groups in our community over the years, including Blueskin A&P Society, Waitati Hall Committee, Blueskin Youth Centre and Waitati Primary School. I believe I can use the knowledge and experience gained to add a practical and honest voice on the community board for the benefit of the whole community.
