Registered nurse, (PG Dip, Masters of Nursing, QSO) currently working in the community. 30 yrs experience throughout our region in a variety of areas, including hospital. I have extensive experience − 2 terms BOP DHB; member of Primary Health Organisation and NZNO boards; appointed member of National Health Board. These diverse experiences are all complementary and benefit each other. I have considerable knowledge of how the health system works assisting me to make informed decisions on the issues presented. My clinical and governance background gives me an understanding of issues facing health providers and the community. This enables me to highlight gaps in the delivery of timely and effective services, along with suggestions for improvement. People need to have a choice of healthcare service that suits their individual need. I remain committed to ensuring all people in our region have quality healthcare services that are available, affordable and accessible.
